  • Lessons and Teaching Strategies -A professor at California State Univ. Northridge has gathered a comprehensive list of lessons from the net. Don't be overwhelmed! There are some good lessons from this list.

  • The Charters of Freedom -Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and Bill of Rights. Press home to get to the National Archives and Records Administration Site. This includes the useful Digital Classroom site.

  • Econ Ed Link -Economic lessons that motivate the students. Check out the Economics Minute connection from this site. This is the location of the National Council on Economics Education.

  • Kathy Schrock's Guide for Social Studies -An excellent site that is comprehensive, easily navigated and has quality sites for social studies teachers' lesson plans.

  • Cable in the Classroom -A useful site if you plan on using cable TV with your lesson plans. There is a schedule for taping, curricular connections, monthly listings (especially for Discovery, CNN, Nickleodeon and A&E), and a magazine.CNN Newsroom is particularly valuable.

  • National Geographic Lessons and Activities -National Geographic lessons, units and activities uphold the finest name in geography. The resources listed are organized by grade level.

  • History/Social Studies Web Site for K-12 Teachers -A huge site that tries to do it all. The social studies teacher can gain valuable material for lesson plans merely because of its size and scope.

  • American Memories -Primary sources that could easily be a basis for lessons. This is an affiliate of the Library of Congress and uses over 60 collections for its impressive list of resources.

  • Atlapedia Online -An easy to use site to capture colorful political and physical maps of the world. Statistics and key facts are also listed on an alphabetized list of the same countries of the world.
